The Surfrider Foundation has released its 2006 State of the Beach Report and it provides some pretty interesting reading.
Not surprisingly, many beaches worldwide continue to receive some very low ratings in the areas of water quality, erosion response and shoreline structures.
My recommendation: read through your local report and then think about doing something. Getting involved is as easy visiting Surfrider.org.

Your recommendation is well made. The Surfrider Foundation is doing great work in protecting our oceans and beaches. More surfers and more citizens need to be concerned about what we are doing to the beaches and oceans that they enjoy so they are not lost forever.
