As anyone who has seen the film Freakside will attest, Jamie O'Brien is one of the best, most radical surfers on the planet.
A significant number of questions during the past couple of years have involved his willingness to pursue contest surfing, which O'Brien has recently answered by saying (on his web site) that contests will be shelved for at least the next several years in favor of a continued focus on free, progressive surfing.
