Just cracked open the October issue of Outside Magazine - the "Buddy Issue." Among the featured friends are Kelly Slater and Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam, who discuss (among other things) surfing, music and travel in an interview.
In describing their friendship, the pair lays it on kind of thick, to the extent that at some point they may read the piece and actually be a little embarassed. Some selected quotes:
From Kelly Slater (in his typical fashion, on the friendship's development): "...we didn't become friends until we understood enough about ourselves and our lives for it to mesh really well."
From Eddie Vedder: "I relish every second we have together..."
