It feels really good to spend a summer Sunday afternoon at Sunset Beach on the North Shore, as my wife and I did last weekend.
After a stop at Ku Aina for a sandwich and a run to Pupukea Foodland for water, we set up shop at Sunset Beach and a quick swim out to the point revealed plenty of honu (sea turtles) cruising below the surface and Triple Crown of Surfing director Randy Rarick out enjoying the afternoon on his longboard.
Later, a walk through the quiet neighborhoods and past Ken Bradshaw's place (which looks like its undergoing some construction work) and back to the beach for sunset at Sunset. Almost perfect...guess it's a little too much to ask for overhead sets in August!
